Panda PonderNovember is Kindness Month Which is also aligned to our SEL book Each Kindness. Did you also know that kindness is teachable? “It’s kind of like weight training, we found that people can actually build up their compassion ‘muscle’ and respond to others’ suffering with care and a desire to help.” Dr. Ritchie Davidson, University of Wisconsin. Or that kindness is contagious? The positive effects of kindness are experienced in the brain of everyone who witnessed the act, improving their mood and making them significantly more likely to “pay it forward.” This means one good deed in a crowded area can create a domino effect and improve the day of dozens of people! How will you show kindness this month? Shout Outs

Lunchtime MusicLunchtime Music: For the first 7 – 10 minutes of lunch, soothing music will be played and students will take this time to eat their lunches without talking. At the end of the 7-10 minutes, the music will be lowered to a restaurant level and students will be allowed to talk to the elbow partners. In order for this to work, I need you all to practice this with your students and really talk to them about appropriate restaurant level conversations. Also practice with them what 7-10 minutes feels like without talking but completing an activity. 3rd Gr Junior Achievement Day- TuesdayTuesday, November 13 from 8:30 to 12PM.
