What's Happening This Week?Monday 8/29
SST, IEP, 504, Eligibility MeetingsTeachers, we try to set these meetings up on Thursdays but Thursday doesn't always work. Parents may need another day, or we can't get all the required personnel at the meetings on a Thursday. When this happens, a meeting not on a Thursday, it is important you still attend. Calendar invites are sent to you via outlook so make sure you are checking your email twice a day and accepting calendar invites. It is required that the student's teachers be at these meetings. Additionally your input is needed. PROGRESS GRADES- THIS WEEKProgress grading window is OPEN and post until Wednesday night 8/30 at midnight. Progress reports will go home on Thursday. You should have 4 grades in IC for each subject- math, ELA, reading. And 2 grades for science and social studies. Since lesson planning began week 2 of school, your team decided what assignment and what day the grade would be taken- practice and participation or assessment. This means your grades should be up-to-date. However after looking at grade books most were empty, so make sure your 4 or 2 grades are in IC before Wednesday at midnight. Class Photos This WEEKIt is almost time for school photos. Our photos with Silly Goose look a little different this year. They will be snapping multiple photos of our students. Parents can choose one photo or all of the photos. We will send information about purchasing photos in a couple weeks. Uniforms are optional for student pictures. We have 30 minutes allotted for each class. Class Photos The photographers will do class photos first. Individual Photos Then students will line up according to the order on the sheet from Silly Goose. We have volunteers that will help direct our students. Staff Photos The PTA is sponsoring staff photos. Please get an individual photo when your class is photographed. If you do not have a homeroom, stop by the gym 12:00-2:00 on Thursday September 1. If you are not in the building during that time, please email [email protected] to set up an alternate time. Child Abuse/Suicide referral formHow to Set up your Second Step AccountGreetings, I hope this email finds you well. I just wanted to reach out and let you know that all new elementary school teachers have been added to the Second Step platform and now have access. They should have received an email from [email protected] today with log in instructions. It is very important that they follow those log in instructions and use their “@atlanta.k12.ga.us” when creating their account. In addition to new teachers activating their accounts, ALL teachers will need to log on and “Create a Class” in order to access their grade level lessons. Teachers should create a class and be ready to teach by September 12th. Attached is a quick start guide with easy instructions. There is also a video link embedded for audio/visual learners. --- please setup your accounts as soon as you can. I will host a getting ready online open forum for those in need of assistance. The date will come via a calendar invite. Implementation Date for Parkside September 12, 2022. Gifted RostersGifted and Talent Development classes will begin the week of August 22, 2022. From Principal FosterTeachers and Staff, Congratulations on a successful opening of school!!!! You guys have done an amazing job throughout this first week of teaching and learning. Thank you! Below are some items to plan for as wee move into week 2. 1. Lunch coverage – Monday will be the last day you will need to eat with your students. 2. Dress Code – Monday will be the last day for jeans and t-shirts. You will need to be in professional dress starting Tuesday. 3. Remember to complete your orientation, self-assessment and professional “goal” or “plan” asap in TKES. 4. First fire drill is Monday – Grade chairs make sure your teachers know what to do – please talk to students about what happens during the drill (students should not be surprised) 5. Do not prop open any door for any amount of time. This is a safety hazard! 6. Continue to be GREAT! Thanks and have a great week! Technology Distribution Tuesday! We will call classes to the media center in twos. You will enter the media center near the green hall and exit near the main entrance. Device labels will be placed in your mailboxes today. Please ensure labels are placed in the bottom cover.
Please pack your patience. For your younger grade levels, PreK and K. Bring your cart. Place your devices on your cart as they are assigned so students don’t drop them in route back to class. MAP Testing CalendarSomething wrong with your computer? board? printer? |
