Morning Announcements week of 11/2PD on Tuesday 11/3Literacy with Coach TaylorMath with Coach LoweMATH Gradual Release: This week for math, we will begin to focus more on modeling (via Gradual Release) to strengthen concept development. Remember, this component addresses the new content being studied. Therefore, it is often allotted the majority of the instructional period to give students time for discussion and reflection. *Desmos: If you're looking for an easier way to assess your students, while providing real-time feedback, consider using DESMOS. Desmos is digital tool that can be used to engage students through Google Classroom, Seesaw and even Nearpod. So, if you're interested in learning how to create these mathematical tasks, the district is providing a professional learning opportunity on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 @ 3pm. You may register through MyPLC using course # 160597. IB with Coach LoweLearners of the Month: This week, we will recognize our PRINCIPLED learners of the month. During virtual learning, our principled students show responsibility by being on time and prepared for class. They respect the rights of others and limit distractions to stay focused. Please submit the names of two principled learners for this month by the COB on Wednesday, November 3, 2020. You may look under the IB tab within the Panda Instructional Hub to find the Learners of the Month link. These students will be recognized next Friday. IB Presentations: Within the next few weeks, each grade level will conduct its first IB presentations virtually. These presentations will be shared with our students and parents through various links. We look forward to seeing our students articulate their in-depth exploration of concepts. • Kindergarten Theme: “Who we are” November 16-20 (via Zoom) • First Theme: “Who we are” October 30 • Second Theme: “How we organize ourselves” October 30 • Third Theme: “Sharing the planet” November 18 • Fourth Theme: “Who we are” November 5 • Fifth Theme: “How we express ourselves” November 20 *Dates may be altered due to school non-instructional days resulting from Hurricane Zeta.
