Shout Outs
- Ms. Moore for always being a supportive colleague!
- Shout out to Ms. Hampton who stayed after school until past 4:40 to help deescalate a student in the after school program.
- Shout out to Mrs. Hampton, Ms. Marshak, Ms. Leonard, Mrs. Fannin and Ms. Cotton and Mrs. Johnson for staying after school past 5pm to help deescalate a student .
- Coach Frett had to manage P.E. for the week of March 5th in spite of the sudden change to a teacher being in the gym with him. He also had to make it "work" on Thursday when the gym was taken over by Vision to Learn.
- Thank you Ms. Henderson!! You really helped out to cover a class at the end of the day so a teacher could attend an SST meeting!
- From Mrs. Andrews: I'd like to shout-out Mr. Cowins for the constant support, kindness and positivity that he lends to our team and students.
Happy Birthday to...
Reminders
As we gear up for Spring Fever and the end of the school year, we need to tighten up on a few things:
- Taking attendance every morning – thing must be completed by every homeroom teacher every day – starting Monday, you will be called if not completed by 8:15.
- Hallway behavior – please remind students about hallway expectations – *No running, *Yell and/or screaming, * walk in a line etc.
- Cafeteria behave – same as above
- Monitoring students – students should never be left unsupervised by an adult.
- Monitoring students on the playground
- Monitoring students going to the restroom – As much as possible, you should go to the restroom as a class.
- Conferencing with parents – try not to schedule conferences between 7:45 and 8:00 (only if absolutely necessary). We are trying to keep parents off the halls during the very busy transition time.
- Make sure we are answering the door as quickly as possible.
- Check with teachers to make sure parents have a scheduled appointment during that 7:45 and 8:00 time period.
- The only parents that should be on the halls are those with a volunteer badge during the 7:45 and 8:00 time period.
- Always be nice and pleasant to our students, staff, and parents.
Month of March- During the month of March, the administration team will be working to get all TKES walkthroughs and formatives complete. Please do not make huge adjustments to your instructional schedule without letting your evaluator know in advance. The expectation is that what is on your schedule is what will be happening in your classes.
Recess- indoor recess will be conducted inside your classrooms not in the gym. Outdoor recess is to be everyday for the allotted time on your posted schedule unless the temperature is 40 or below, extremely muddy or raining.
