Zoo Lesson Plans & Conservation Kits
This outreach program was made possible by a grant award from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Through this program, Zoo Atlanta partners with school districts and Public Libraries throughout Georgia to provide educational experiences for children about wildlife and wild places.
Goals for Cases for Conservation:
- To provide Pre-K through Grade 7 educators with easy-to-use, interdisciplinary teaching tools aligned with Georgia Standards of Excellence, which will supplement classroom curriculum about local and global wildlife.
- To enable Public Library staff to engage children in hands-on learning about animals and wild places in con-junction with programming about related children’s literature.
- To provide Pre-K through Grade 7 students throughout Georgia with access to Zoo Atlanta conservation education programming.
- To inspire students’ curiosity, discovery, and wonder about the natural world around them.
